Maintenance

- Easy maintenance

- Maintenance during off season

- Shut it down during the summer season

- It can be ran year round, but should be shut down to clean and keep maintained

- If used for heating water another option is to keep electric hot water heat and switch back and forth

- Clean out firebox, get all the ashes out with a shovel

- Clean the chimney

- Dump ash pan and clean out

- Use old motor oil to oil the joints ( seems of firebox )

 

Coal VS Wood

-There is a grate in the coal burning furnace and not in the wood burning furnace

- Easier to find wood than coal

- Wood is being banned but coal have been passing city codes
